Holistic Health

What is Holistic Health?

  • Holistic health is a process of healing and balancing body, mind, and spirit, and correcting the cause(s) of imbalance.
  • Holistic health emphasizes prevention, growth and change, and is wellness-oriented.
  • Holistic health and healing sees illness as a creative opportunity for a person to learn more about oneself and one’s fundamental values.
  • When following the holistic model, everyday choices are used to take charge of, improve, and maintain one’s own health.
  • Holistic health respects individuality: the right of individuals to have their own awareness, values, attitudes, and behaviors; to make their own choices; and to assume responsibility for those choices.
  • The result of holistic health is optimum health, with an ever-higher expression of potential fulfillment and joy.
